Los Angeles Music Productions (LAMP) and the Knitting Factory Present: Top Producers and Engineers Reveal All! An Educational Event for Songwriters, Producers, Bands and Artists
LOS ANGELES– On Saturday, March 29, 2003, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.,Los Angeles Music Productions (LAMP) and
the Knitting Factory (Hollywood)presents an educational event that will be divided into three major components:a
networking breakfast with keynote speaker;educational panels and song critique; and an artist showcase.
The event will begin with a networking breakfast with keynote speaker David Brownstein, signature guitar
, . Brownstein, a music
industry consultant, producer, engineer and filmmaker, will discuss how to work with a producer. Then, the audience
will meet a panel of top producers in the music industry from major music genres such as pop/R&B, country/acoustic/folk, rock/alternative, and rap/hip hop.
In this one-hour panel, attendees will have the rare opportunity to meet and learn from top producers. CONFIRMED PRODUCERS include: MATT FORGER (Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen), RANDY CASH (Lit, Korn, Incubus), MARVIN ETZIONI

The second half of the event will be a group critique session. Attendees will separate into groups according to the genre that most fits their music and have the opportunity to have the producers listen to a song and make suggestions on how to improve arrangement, melody, rhythm, pacing, vocals and more.

, bring a copy of their best song and at least 10 lyric sheets to have it critiqued by top producers (first come, first served as time permits). Attendees can enter to win prizes and a chance to perform at a songwriter showcase.
The third component of the show is a chance to perform at a songwriter/artist showcase. Attendees must come prepared
to play.
Guitar and drums are provided, but solo or acoustic performance are required due to time constraints. We are not equipped for impromptu bands. Five attendees will be chosen to perform one song each as an opening act for a scheduled band. The showcase will be filmed as part of a documentary. A few artists will be selected and interviewed to participate in the documentary.
